How can I get more people to like my Facebook Fan Page?

I’ve had my Facebook fan page for months, still I have only 17 fans. Any suggestions on what to do? I really want to start doing more with FB as I hear it’s a massive traffic source.

First of all, I would suggest reading this post; the man who wrote it is a master of Facebook fan pages – http://www.incomediary.com/12-reasons-why-some-facebook-pages-boom-but-most-bust

Secondly, I would install the official Facebook like button, that doesn’t redirect you when you click like. I’ve found a massive increase in likes since I had this installed.

Finally, start a Twitter account, follow people in your niche, and then tweet links to your Facebook page.

We did well by doing a contest and the only way they could enter the contest was by liking our Facebook page and commenting. Added nearly 200 people in a couple days to our page.

What is the Facebook Fan Page about?
If it is about knitting in caravans i’d never expect to get that many likes..

I agree.. Offer something that is unique to only your Facebook fans so that they feel “special” or a part of something.. The will make the outsiders feel like they need to join in to see what all the fuss is about. Really engage your Facebook audience, and I think you’ll be very pleased with the results!
