Backlinks vs Quality Content

Is it worth spending a lot of time finding quality backlinks or is it better to work on quality content and keyword research? I guess my question is, if I were to just focus on quality content, will quality backlinks come in on their own at a faster rate than me spending time finding backlinks?

    Hi Jarrett,

Personally, I’ve only ever focused on quality content. If you have great content, people will find it and will link to you. Focusing on back-links can get you great results but at the same time, it’s only worth it if you have somewhere good to send those links to.

      Hi,
You are always going to see a noticeable increase in SEO when you start receiving more backlinks, but they can’t link to what’s not there. So the answer is a combination really. I pride myself on writing the best quality content that I can in my niche, and Google starts to recognise the quantity, as well as the quality of my writings. Backlinks are important, but only so long as you back them up. When you’re writing your content, don’t write them purely for the purposes of SEO, but always have SEO in mind, so that you can include the right keywords and rank well in Google. To answer your question, yes they will, but you never know where they’ll come from, or to which posts. They can be a little bit hard to predict.
